Keith Vaz: 'Plebgate' officers 'must say sorry'

The chair of the Home Affairs Committee, Keith Vaz, has said he is surprised that the police officers involved in the "plebgate" affair did not directly apologise to Andrew Mitchell and his family for the distress caused, during a hearing on Tuesday.

He insisted that the case was not just about Mr Mitchell, but about how such issues are dealt with by police.

Mr Vaz spoke to the BBC's Norman Smith after the hearing.
