Typhoon Haiyan: David Cameron pledges Philippines help

David Cameron has said the UK will send a Royal Navy ship to help deal with the "devastation" caused by a typhoon which has left thousands dead in the Philippines.

Addressing business leaders in the City of London on Monday, the prime minister also revealed that UK aid would be increased from £6m to £10m.

He said: "We continue to help around the world, as we are today in the Philippines, where Typhoon Haiyan has wrought such appalling devastation."
