Ed Miliband: 'Unjustified smears' over Co-op links
The Labour leader Ed Miliband has accused David Cameron of launching an "unjustified smear campaign" against his party over its links with the disgraced former chairman of the Co-op Bank, Paul Flowers.
The Labour leader says he acted as soon as he was made aware of the allegations surrounding Mr Flowers, who is to be questioned by the police about claims he bought illegal drugs.
The government has launched a full inquiry into failings at the bank and the decision to appoint the former Labour councillor as its chairman.
