Cameron defiant on EU referendum

David Cameron says he is committed to holding an EU referendum by 2017, after a private member's bill to get a referendum into law was killed off by peers.

The House of Lords voted not to spend more time debating Tory MP James Wharton's bill, whose passage through Parliament was delayed by Lib Dem and Labour blocking tactics.

Mr Cameron said that as long as he was prime minister following the 2015 election, "there will be an in-out referendum".
