Miliband hails Labour 'courage' as reforms approved

Proposals to change the link between Labour and the unions have been approved at a special conference of party members.

Delegates voted to end the automatic affiliation of trade union members and introduce a "one member, one vote" system in leadership elections.

Speaking after the result was announced, Labour leader Ed Miliband said: "We should all be proud of the Labour Party that has shown the courage to change"
