Maria Miller victim of 'media witch hunt', says aide

Maria Miller has been the victim of a "witch hunt" by newspapers, angry about press regulation in light of the Leveson report, her parliamentary aide has claimed.

Parliamentary Private Secretary, Mary Macleod, said she could not understand why papers were continuing to run reports about the Culture Secretary's expenses.

She told the BBC: "We can't just let the media do whatever they want and hound someone where allegations have been dismissed, that's wrong in my book."
