Maria Miller expenses row: 'She made the apology that was asked for'

Culture Secretary Maria Miller has been defended by the leader of the House of Commons over her apology to MPs, following an inquiry into her expenses.

In an interview on Tuesday's Newsnight, Andrew Lansley stressed that the complaint against her "principally, wasn't upheld".

He added that she had "made the apology that was asked for" by the standards committee.

In her first public comments on the issue since the apology, Mrs Miller told told the Basingstoke Gazette that she was "devastated" that she has let her constituents down,
