Liberal Democrats 'won't back minority rule' says Danny Alexander

A senior Liberal Democrat has revealed what his party would do if the next election resulted in another hung parliament.

Treasury Minister Danny Alexander said the Lib Dems would be willing to renew their coalition with the Conservatives - or form one with Labour instead.

Speaking at an event in Folkestone for Eurotunnel, he said the party would not support a minority government, because ''it would not be in the British national interest''.

James Landale reports.
