Nick Clegg on challenge of UKIP and LibDem track record

Deputy Prime Minister Nick Clegg has been talking about the challenge presented by UKIP after opinion polls suggested a poor result for the Liberal Democrats in Thursday's elections.

Mr Clegg said reform was needed but said he did not go along with "Nigel Farage's belief that everything that is a problem under the sun can be solved by pulling ourselves out of the European Union".

He told BBC Breakfast he was "hugely proud" of his party's track record on policies including tax cuts, expanding apprenticeships and raising the state pension.
