Ed Miliband: 'Future lies in European Union'

Ed Miliband says exiting the European Union is not the solution to the UK's problems and "will never be Labour's policy" under his leadership.

In a speech in Thurrock, Essex, Mr Miliband referenced UKIP's success in the European elections, saying they provided a "simple explanation of the cause of our problems - Europe and foreigners."

But he said that closing the UK off from the world would "harm working people".
