Nick Clegg: Cable was not involved in Lib Dem poll
Nick Clegg has said he is certain his Liberal Democrat colleague Vince Cable had no prior knowledge of a party opinion poll, which undermines his leadership.
The deputy PM told BBC Radio Sheffield that Mr Cable was not involved in the poll commissioned by his friend Lord Oakeshott. It suggested the party would perform better without Mr Clegg as leader.
He added: "You've got to understand there are a lot of people on the left and right of British politics who don't like us being in government at all."
