Newark by-election candidates tested on favourite PM
During the English Civil War Newark was a Royalist stronghold, where the Parliamentarians laid siege to it three times before it eventually surrendered.
And now today's parliamentarians, and press, have done it again, with the town under siege from outsiders ahead of Thursday's by-election for the seat previously held by Patrick Mercer.
In a Daily Politics film, reporter Adam Fleming tested four of the candidates when he spoke to Tory Robert Jenrick, Lib Dem David Watts, UKIP's Roger Helmer and Labour's Michael Payne about their favourite prime ministers.
