Labour and Lib Dem allies meet to discuss 'common ground'

Newsnight has learnt that key allies of Nick Clegg and Ed Miliband have met and discussed what the two parties have in common, including "mutual concerns" over Europe.

Lord Adonis, the Labour peer, and Lord Wood, one of Ed Miliband's closest advisers, met Jonny Oates, Clegg's chief of staff and Neil Sherlock, a prominent Liberal Democrat and donor, who also worked as a government advisor.
