Islamic State: Philip Hammond on UK military action
The UK will not be "panicked into dropping bombs all over the place" said the foreign secretary when asked why the UK had yet to attack Islamic State (IS) targets.
Philip Hammond told Andrew Neil that the RAF was running "about two sorties a day" as it gathered intelligence, and would be "absolutely sure" bombings would be against targets, and not innocent people in occupied areas.
He said the RAF was doing its job "superbly well", while minimising the risk of civilian casualties.
On Friday, the UK Parliament voted by 524 to 43 in favour of taking action against IS (also known as ISIL) in Iraq.
