Nick Clegg: 'Lib Dems lost our voice in coalition'

The Liberal Democrats "lost their voice" in the first year of the coalition, the party's leader has admitted.

Nick Clegg said that he was "not sure it was avoidable" but that he had felt "pressure... to show that coalition government could work".

But, speaking to Newsnight's Evan Davis, he insisted that the initial negotiations for the coalition agreement had been tough.
