Open Europe's Mats Persson: UK benefits and EU migrants
Changing the rules over access to benefits and tax credits for EU migrants in the UK might be a "perfect compromise", says Open Europe.
The think tank, which promotes ideas for economic and political reform of the EU, said that could ease the tension over free movement of people into the UK and and restricting access to British welfare.
Director Mats Persson said other countries have a "much more contribution-based" system and most did not have a similar system to British tax credits.
He spoke to Jo Coburn on the Daily Politics about how Britain could find it difficult to restrict the number of European migrants, whether it was inside or outside the EU.
