Iraq inquiry: Chilcot says he is unable to give a date of publication
The head of the official inquiry into the Iraq war has said he cannot give an estimated date of publication of his report.
Appearing before MPs, Sir John Chilcot said he did not want to raise false hopes or expectations by naming a date, or even a timeframe.
He said he was being held by the "Maxwellisation" process - a system whereby those provisionally criticised in the report are invited to respond.
