BBC Rewind from 1982: Healthcare for all?
Funding problems for the National Health Service are nothing new.
As far back as 1982, a BBC Newsweek programme considered the increased burden that the UK's ageing population was placing on the NHS and posed the question whether this, combined with the rising costs of treatment, were threatening the principle of healthcare for all in an environment where every decision can be a matter of life and death.
