Corbyn backs public ownership for railways and Royal Mail
The Labour leadership candidate Jeremy Corbyn has said the party should consider bringing back Clause IV, its traditional commitment to public ownership, which was abandoned by New Labour.
Tony Blair's move to ditch the commitment in Labour's constitution to public ownership was seen by some as a symbolic step which made the party more electable in the post-Thatcher era.
Mr Corbyn has called for renationalisation of the railways and energy companies, as well as public investment in industry.
