Jeremy Corbyn: Labour leadership race 'democratic'

Alastair Campbell has warned Labour risks "driving itself off a cliff" with Jeremy Corbyn as leader, as a new poll put the left wing MP ahead.

Labour's former communications director is urging support for "anyone but Jeremy Corbyn" in the leadership vote.

But speaking to the BBC, Mr Corbyn insisted that the leadership election process was "very democratic" and was drawing the attention of a large number of former Labour supporters and young people.

"That is good. It's good for democracy. It's good for the Labour Party. It's good for debate", he added.
