McDonnell: Corbyn 'will not give PM free hand on EU'

Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn will not give the prime minister a "free hand" in renegotiating the UK's membership of the EU, Shadow Chancellor John McDonnell has said.

Speaking to reporters, Mr McDonnell said they wanted to see what package David Cameron could come up with before declaring their position.

He was also asked about Mr Corbyn's first meeting with the Parliamentary Labour Party after winning the leadership election, where he was not greeted by the traditional banging of desks.
