Election results announcement timings after polls close

Reporter Adam Fleming looks at why it will take three days for the election results to be announced.

Polls close at 22:00 BST on Thursday, with BBC election coverage starting before midnight, but the complicated set of elections means the results will be spread over Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

The Daily Politics reporter offers some clues about the timings of which results will be known when, as even the psephologists will be bleary-eyed if they sit and wait for every count to be declared.
