Owen Smith: Brexit talks, EU referendum and Article 50

A former Labour leadership contender would seek to amend government legislation to allow for a second EU referendum.

Owen Smith told Daily Politics presenter Andrew Neil about the potential of a "second referendum in which the people of Britain, in another act of democracy, could determine whether they want to finally ratify what we’re actually going to have as opposed to what we were promised back in June.”

He spoke of "another opportunity" for a parliamentary vote at the end of the negotiations.
