Hilary Benn says Sir Ivan's departure 'is not good'
The UK's top diplomat in Brussels, Sir Ivan Rogers, has resigned. He had been due to play a key role in Brexit talks expected to start within months.
Labour former shadow foreign secretary and chairman of the Commons Brexit Committee Hilary Benn told The World at One that the resignation of Sir Ivan Rogers departure was not good, saying "this is time for continuity and experience" because the negotiations are going to be a "difficult and challenging".
He added "having a handover in the middle of that, is not ideal."
