Former GCHQ boss is warning UK defence post-Brexit could decline

The former head of GCHQ is warning UK defence will decline if Theresa May does not take part in the wider European defence plan post-Brexit.

Robert Hannigan also questioned whether the UK would be able to afford to spend enough on defence.

"If our economy shrinks we will be able to afford less," he added on the Today programme.
