Brexit Secretary David Davis says referendum 'irreversible'

Brexit Secretary David Davis told the Today Programme the government would "not reverse the decision of the referendum", even if it loses a key vote in Parliament.

Mr Davis also said the UK would leave the EU even if a deal is not reached - but added "that's not where we're going".

The House of Commons will vote later on whether to give MPs a decisive say on any final deal struck with the EU in the autumn.
