Covid: Starmer on South African variant and UK borders

The South African Covid variant is the "single biggest risk at the moment” to the UK, the Labour leader said.

Sir Keir Starmer questioned why it took 50 days to bring in border restrictions after learning of the variant.

He described it as “leaving a backdoor open” in the battle against the virus.
