Sunak: Mid-term by-elections always difficult for governments
The prime minister said there were “particularly challenging” circumstances in two-by-elections the Conservatives lost to Labour, in Wellingborough and Kingswood.
Rishi Sunak added there was “not a huge amount of enthusiasm” for Sir Keir Starmer and Labour, who did not have a plan to deliver “real change”.
He called on the country to “stick with our plan” which he said was starting to deliver the change the country wanted and needed.
