Starmer: Tories ask to 'pay more and more for less and less'

Labour leader Keir Starmer has used his budget response to accuse the Conservatives of losing control of the economy.

The Tories' "inability" to generate growth in the economy means they are asking working people to "pay more and more for less and less", Starmer said.

"They lost control of the economy," he said.

The Labour leader was responding to Chancellor Jeremy Hunt's 2024 budget in the House of Commons.
