Treasury EU exit estimate is 'wrong' - Boris Johnson
A Treasury analysis that warns the UK economy would be 6% smaller than it would otherwise be by 2030 if the UK left the EU is "wrong", London mayor and Leave campaigner Boris Johnson has said.
The Treasury says an EU exit would hit the public finances by £36bn a year.
But Mr Johnson, a supporter of Vote Leave, said the Treasury had a poor track record in economic forecasting, adding: "They were wrong then and they're wrong now."
He said the UK economy would be "liberated" by a vote to leave, saying it would benefit from the "£20bn a year" the country currently pays to the EU.
