EU costly for steel jobs, says pro-Brexit MP David Davies
A pro-Brexit Conservative MP has rejected the chancellor's claim that leaving the EU would have a "profound economic shock" on Wales.
Visiting north Wales on Monday, George Osborne said such a move would cost tens of thousands of jobs, lower the value of homes and put the tourism industry in Wales at risk.
He insisted the UK had a bright future inside a reformed EU.
But Monmouth Tory MP David Davies said the fortunes of the steel industry showed how EU membership could prove costly for Welsh jobs.
