Novelist's wife calls for NHS to 'stop wasting organs'

The wife of the Horse Whisperer's author has called on the NHS to stop "wasting" organs that could be used for transplant.

Charlotte Gordon Cumming and her family were left with kidney failure after accidentally eating poisonous mushrooms gathered on the family estate in Moray.

She has asked why, out of every 400 people on the register who die each day in the UK, only around two become organ donors.
