Teenager's death sparks cyber-blackmailing probe

Police in Fife are investigating claims that a 17-year-boy killed himself because he was being blackmailed on the internet.

Daniel Perry believed he was communicating with a girl his own age from America, but was told the pictures he had sent would be posted online unless he handed over money.

It has also emerged the teenager had previously been urged to kill himself by anonymous users on the social media website ask.fm.

James Cook reports.
