George Osborne: Scotland 'better off in UK'
George Osborne has said that Scotland would be in a better position to make the most of its oil reserves and perform economically if it remained part of the UK after the 2104 independence referendum.
Speaking in Aberdeen, the chancellor said government figures suggested Scottish GDP would be 4% higher in 30 years' time if was still part of the union, compared to the value it would hold at that time if it was a solo state.
