Peter Higgs to receive Nobel physics prize
Professor Peter Higgs will receive the Nobel Prize for Physics in Stockholm on Tuesday.
The Edinburgh University academic first proposed the fundamental particle which now bears his name almost 50 years ago, but it is just two years since the Higgs Boson was found.
BBC Scotland's science correspondent Kenneth Macdonald has been speaking to Prof Higgs and to some of the Swedes behind the prize.
Watch Peter Higgs: Scotland's Nobel Winner on BBC Two Scotland at 22:00 GMT on Tuesday 9 December 2013.
