Baby ashes scandal: Former Mortonhall manager 'would welcome inquiry'

A former manager of Mortonhall, the crematorium at the centre of the baby ashes scandal, has said he would welcome a full public inquiry.

George Bell also said there were "missed opportunities" as far back as the 1980s, when government ministers were asked for clearer guidance on the issue.

A report by Dame Elish Angiolini into practices at Mortonhall concluded that many parents will never know their child's final resting place.

Public Health Minister Michael Matheson has said a public inquiry has not been ruled out.
