Scottish independence: Salmond insistent with questioning

Alex Salmond, leader of the Yes campaign, was insistent on his questioning of Better Together campaign leader Alistair Darling during the televised debate.

The two leaders clashed over the issues of welfare and the NHS, with Mr Salmond asking if money spent on Trident could not be better directed elsewhere.

Mr Darling insisted that Scotland's economy, and ability to create jobs, would be in a better position as part of the union.
