Johann Lamont resigns: Scottish Labour leader stands down

Scottish Labour leader Johann Lamont has resigned with immediate effect after accusing the UK party of treating Scotland like a "branch office".

The 56-year-old MSP indicated that she had "had enough".

Ms Lamont said that Ed Miliband did not listen to her and did not consult, and that some Scottish Labour MPs were "dinosaurs" who had plotted against her.

Iain Watson reports.
