Who can rebuild Labour in Scotland?

Johann Lamont resigned as Scottish Labour leader on Friday, saying her colleagues at Westminster had made her position untenable.

There is a growing list of MSPs who say they do not want to fill the role, one of the most prestigious and high-profile vacancies in Scottish politics.

Bob Thomson, former leader of the Scottish Labour Party, has accused the Labour leadership and Scottish Labour MPs in Westminster of being out of touch.

"They are living in an ivory tower and have no idea what is happening on the ground," he said.
