Lockerbie relatives seek Megrahi conviction U-turn

Relatives of some of the victims of the Lockerbie bombing are going to the High Court in Edinburgh to seek permission for an appeal to overturn the conviction of Abdelbaset Ali al-Megrahi.

The Libyan secret service agent, who died three years ago, was the only person to be found guilty of the atrocity.

The Scottish Criminal Cases Review wants the court to rule over whether it can investigate the Lockerbie case again on behalf of the victims' families.

The Crown Office has said it will contest the application.
