Police say body on farm is student Karen Buckley

The police officer leading the investigation into the death of student Karen Buckley has confirmed that the body found on a farm near Glasgow is that of the missing student.

Det Supt Jim Kerr, of Police Scotland's major investigations team, read a statement on behalf of Karen's father, John Buckley: He said: "Karen was our only daughter, cherished by her family and loved by her friends. We will miss her terribly."

A 21-year-old man has been arrested in connection with her death and is expected to appear in court on Friday.
