Final Red Road flats to be demolished in autumn

The remaining six blocks of Red Road flats in Glasgow are to be demolished by the end of the year.

Preparation has begun to bring the tower blocks down in the autumn.

Glasgow Housing Association says it will work with the local community to plan ahead for demolition day.

Organisers of Glasgow 2014 had planned to demolish five of the blocks as part of the Commonwealth Games opening ceremony but that plan was dropped following safety and security concerns.
