Higher maths pass mark lowered because exams 'too hard'
Thousands of pupils in Scotland received their exam results on Tuesday, with a record number of Highers being awarded.
The Scottish Qualifications Authority said there were 156,000 passes this year - an increase of 5.5% on last year.
It has also admitted that the new Maths Higher was too difficult and that the marking process had been amended to take this into account.
