Alexander Pacteau admits murder of Karen Buckley

A man has admitted murdering Irish student Karen Buckley who disappeared while on a night out in Glasgow in April.

Alexander Pacteau appeared in the city's High Court on Tuesday morning.

The 21-year-old admitted that he struck her repeatedly on the head with a spanner and strangled her.

Ms Buckley's parents travelled from Cork for the hearing.
