Police: Karen Buckley killer 'callous and calculated'

Alexander Pacteau has pleaded guilty to the murder of Irish student Karen Buckley who disappeared on a night out in Glasgow in April.

After his appearance at the High Court in Glasgow, Police Scotland thanked the public for their help in the investigation.

Det Supt Jim Kerr said: "Despite not really coming to the attention of police in the past, we would describe him as callous and calculated and that could have happened to any female that night."
