Nicola Sturgeon criticises Osborne's 'arrogant decision'
Nicola Sturgeon has accused the UK chancellor of pre-empting a vote in parliament on the replacement of Trident nuclear submarines on the River Clyde.
George Osborne announced an investment of £500m in the Faslane navy base in a move that he says will secure 6,700 jobs on the site.
The first minister said "This is an arrogant decision by the Chancellor to try to pre-empt parliament's decision on the replacement of Trident"
She said the money could be better spent offsetting the impact of the UK government's welfare cuts.
