Edinburgh ready for the Queen

Crowds gathered at Edinburgh Waverley's station to see the Queen as she set off to officially open the Borders Railway.

Her Majesty was joined by First Minister Nicola Sturgeon to take an historic steam journey along the route to Tweedbank, on the day that she becomes Britain's longest serving monarch.

Thousands of people are expected to turn out to see her along the way.
