Tata Steel's Scots plants mothballed

Tata Steel has announced that both its plants in Scotland will be mothballed with the loss of 225 jobs at the Dalzell plate rolling works, in Motherwell, and 45 posts at the Clydebridge plant in Cambuslang.

The company said the two last major processors of steel in Scotland are casualties of the downturn in the world price for steel.

Tata also announced the loss of 900 posts at its facility in Scunthorpe.

BBC Scotland's David Henderson reports from the Dalzell plant.
