New ferry ready to leave Ferguson Marine shipyard in Port Glasgow
A new roll-on roll-off hybrid ferry will be launched in Port Glasgow on Friday morning.
The £12.3m low-carbon diesel electric hybrid ferry is the third of its type and the first to be built by newly-formed Ferguson Marine Engineering Ltd.
Named Catriona, the vehicle and passenger ship will serve in Calmac's Clyde and Hebrides ferry fleet.
Sea trials are due to begin in April 2016 with the ferry expected to enter service in the summer.
