Eyemouth fishing tragedy depicted in sculpture

One of the darkest days in the history of Scottish seafaring has been marked with unveiling of a new memorial.

Horrified women and children watched as boats were smashed against the rocks in Eyemouth harbour.

The disaster, in which 189 men died, became known as Black Friday.

Sculptor Jill Watson told the BBC that Widows and Bairns commemorates the women and children left behind in October 1881.
